Metropolitan State College of Denver offers forty (40) hours of lectures on DVD and accompanying lecture notes designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the major technical and legal aspects of land surveying practiced in the state of Colorado. Students outside the state of Colorado, please read note following course description.

Major topics include:

  • Land surveying professional practice/ State and Federal Regulation
  • Land surveying definitions and legal terminology
  • Basic land surveying computations used in land parcel boundaries
  • Horizontal and vertical components of route surveying
  • Colorado statues affecting land surveying
  • Public Land Survey System (PLSS) as it applies to western states
