Thorn Grass: A Short Film
- Thorn Grass is an award-winning short film based on
the life and death of FC Martinez; a transgendered Navajo
youth killed in act of a hate crime in Cortez, Colorado
two years ago. Local filmmaker D. Robin Hammer will present
the film and speak about what she has learned during it’s

Beyond Chicanismo Oral History
Project - Presents “Resistance Existence:
An Alternative Lifestyle,” & “Native American
Art and Political Expression,” featuring Jean LeMarr.
LaMarr is the founder and artistic director of the Native
American Graphic Workshop out in California. She will
discuss the imposition of non-Indian standards within
the Native American art world and how her dedication to
the liberation of indigenous peoples has influenced her

El Dia De Los Muertos - Escuela Tlatelolco, located
at 2949 N. Federal Blvd., along with Troy Chavez Peace
Garden, Padres Unidos, Grupo Tlaloc and Lucia’s
Case de Café will observe El Dia beginning with
an Honoring Ceremony at 5pm at the Troy Chavez Peace Garden
on 38th Ave. & Shoshone. Then Grupo Tlaloc (Aztec
Dance Group) will lead a night procession to throughout
Northwest Denver arriving at the Escuela for a community

Turkish Night Fall 2003 - It
will be held on Saturday, November 1st at Tivoli 320 ABC
from 7:00 to 11:00pm. Tickets are free of charge and can
be obtained at the Periodicals and reserves Help Desks
of the Library, Information Desk of Tivoli Student Union,
or you can register at www.cudenver.edu/tusad. The event
includes Turkish food, Music, Informative Slide Shows,A
Lottery Drawing, and A Fashion show of Traditional Turkish
