Letters to the Editor

Humor appreciated when it comes to Horowitz

Dear Editor,

I just wanted to thank you for printing the letter from M. Christian Stone, titled “Horowitz’s speech having an effect on campus.” That was just good humor. I don’t remember actually laughing out loud like that in sometime.

I like your paper, but sometimes it can get a bit dull, after all there are only so many exciting happenings going on here at MSCD. I appreciate your initiative to lighten the whole paper by publishing that priceless editorial of levity. What else could it have been but a brilliantly planned joke by your staff to lighten this issue and your paper.

The fact that anyone would think that the Republican National Committee and Karl Rove could care about who is in control of the MSCD Student Government Assembly is preposterous.
With Senate and House races at both the state and federal level, and a presidential race next year, it makes obvious sense that the Republicans figured they could sweep Democrats by focusing their efforts at controlling the political climate of a campus where less than 5% voted in the student elections and the demographic makeup dictates only 20% will vote in the state and national election. Again, good stuff, if only Saturday Night Live was still that funny.

Sincerely,
M. Roberts
