With my graduation looming and the window of opportunity to make the most of my undergraduate career steadily narrowing, I chose to study in Mexico for two and a half months, during Spring semester of 2004. Before student loans caught up with me and the harsh reality of adult life set in, I wanted to explore our nearest southern neighbor. So, on Feb. 4, along with 12 other Metro students, I set off to live and study in the second largest city in Mexico. What follows is an account of my experiences during the 11 weeks I spent living in Guadalajara and traveling in the country. Although it would be impossible to describe the trip in its entirety, I hope that this conveys at least the most significant elements of the journey. more>>
