Colorado State University joins September Project
FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Libraries across the United States turned a day of mourning into a day of action.

Three years after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that killed more than 2,700 people, CSU’s Morgan Library participated in the September Project, which is designed to get students registered to vote and more involved and educated about the government.

The idea behind holding this project in September, specifically Sept. 11, is to use a sad day to invite students, faculty and staff to celebrate democracy.

Librarians stationed themselves at tables to show students various Web sites where they can get information on the election and the issues involved.

Associated Students of CSU and Colorado New Voters Project were also present to register students to vote.

The New Voters Project is a non-partisan grass roots organization designed to register voters and encourage voting.
