Last year, another female member of the College Republicans and
I approached the Auraria Institute for Women's Studies and Services
and asked why Bay Buchanan, a conservative political pundit, was
not put on the Women's History Month calendar. The answer we got
was somewhere along the lines that Bay Buchanan was speaking after
Women's History Month and therefore wasn't placed on the calendar.
Could it have been Bay Buchanan was talking about the Failures of
Feminism? In my opinion it's mostly likely so. more

One of my favorite holidays is approaching, and it doesn't involve
rabbits, eggs, or crosses. It is March 8, the under- recognized
but truly celebratory occasion of International Women's Day. It
is the day to celebrate the women in our lives who are unrepentant
and insatiable until a new world is created. more >>>

"They say that these are not the best of times, but they're
the only times I've ever known." Billy Joel - "Summer:
Highland Falls" It's probably considered un-hip to quote
a pop tune, but I think ol' Billy had a good point. I also agree
with the next line in his song, which says "... and I believe
there is a time for meditation in cathedrals of our own," a
line that pretty much sums up why I try to fill this space each
week with thoughts and ideas, or if you prefer, ramblings, diatribes,
venomous spews-choose your own terms, there are plenty to go around.

Local exhibit shows cultural icon in various theatres of U.S. military conflict

Porcelain faces peek from behind glass cases lining the walls and children run freely through the wide halls. There is an almost palpable sense of innocence and play entering this late-19th century building. Indeed, walking into the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys at 1880 Gaylord Street is like walking into some sprawling, Victorian dollhouse. more >>>

In the mood for some offbeat art? Travel down Broadway and you will find a gallery that is anything but ordinary.
D.C. Gallery is small, kitschy and labels itself as "The Purveyors of Modern Pop Culture." Fans of artists Shag, who uses illustrations to portray lively retro settings, and Blythe, those eerie, wide-eyed dolls, will enjoy the unique atmosphere. more >>>

The experience was a shock to the system, deemed so powerful that a disclaimer was read before you entered and counselors were there for you at the end. more >>>

Metro women´s basketball and the Regis Rangers faced off for the final
game of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament. After a season
with both teams at the top of the standings, it seemed fitting for the
rivals to play for the conference´s highest award.
The highly physical contest was decided in the final seconds of play.
The Roadrunners walked away with its first RMAC championship since 1998,
making history as Metro became the first school since joining the RMAC

There are certain facts involved with baseball. Three strikes mean
you´re out. Three outs end an inning. And when the Metro baseball team
scores more than four runs, they win.
Just the facts, ma´am.
Since the start of the season, the Metro Nine are 9-1 when scoring
four or more runs. They´re 0-5 if they score less than four. So, as
if to make sure, on the first day of action against Northwest Nazarene
at Auraria Field, the Roadrunners scored more than four runs. A lot
more. Metro simply dominated the visiting Crusaders, winning 20-1 in
the first game and 6-1 in the second. more >>>

If someone wouldıve told me at the beginning of the season that the
Metro womenıs basketball team was going to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic

But if someone wouldıve said they would win and someone other than

said they were crazy. more >>>
