Students hoping to defer the cost of an education via scholarships will soon have comprehensive assistance. Metro will open the Development Scholarship Service Center complete with a Web-accessable computer system.
Mike Barnett, Metro admissions officer, said the center will assist students in locating available scholarships.
ãIt is incredible the number of dollars that are out there,ä Barnett said. ãSometimes the applications will require an essay or something, and many people are just unwilling to do the work.ä The center may open in January.
ãThe scholarship center will be located near the Financial Aid office, or in it, depending on how things can be re-arranged,ä Barnett said.
ãWe hope to have the center open in four to five months, depending on whether or not we can hire qualified personel in time.ä
Metro Admissions handles most requests for scholarship information as well as awarding the college presidential scholarships. |
