Ethiopia School Project

Metro State made a commitment to assist with the building of a modest school for children in a rural area near the town of Adowa. The children in this community have been attendng school in a classroom constructed of tree branches. During the rainy seasons the teacher cannot hold class because of the adverse conditions. We are pleased to announce that after many months of dedicated fundraising efforts by Metro's faculty, staff and students the committment made by Metro State will be honored. With help from the Denver community, Metro has raised $25,000 to build a one room elementary school that will serve the community year round.

The photos below illustrate the current state of the school. Please check back for photos of the new school as the building project progresses. We are excited to share the contruction progress and ribbon cutting over the next few months.
