SAFI, Support Africa Empowerment Foundation International, is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. In Kiswahili the word SAFI means clean, smooth, correct, pure, which express and symbolize the intents, commitments and principles of our mission. SAFI’s founder is Dr. Lucas Nandih Shamala, a Kenyan native, who is an assistant professor at the Metropolitan State College of Denver, Department of African and African American Studies. Dr. Shamala founded SAFI in 2004.
