Q1. What are your admissions requirements?

Q2. How do I apply?
Carefully read all the application instructions, then apply online. You can also print an Undergraduate Application (
1,209 KB) or a Graduate Application ( 1,113 KB) and either drop it off at the Admissions Office or fax it to us at 303-556-6345.
Q3. How do I find out the status of my application?
Please contact the Office of Admissions at 303-556-3058 or send an email to askmetro@msudenver.edu. If you applied online, you can also check your status here.
Q4. I was accepted last semester and couldn’t attend - do I need to re-apply?
Your acceptance term is good for three semesters, so you do not have to re-apply for admission. Example: If you were admitted for spring 2011, your admission would be good through fall 2011. If you don't enroll in classes by the fall semester, then you would need to reapply. If you have not completed your steps to success, be sure to do so, so that you are ready to register for classes.
Q5. I attended MSU Denver over a year ago – do I need to re-apply?
We’re pleased you are interested in coming back to MSU Denver! Since it has been more than three semesters since you attended, you will need to re-apply. Example: If you last received a grade in a course in spring 2010, you are eligible to register for classes through spring 2011; however, to register for classes for summer 2011 or later, you would need to re-apply. You are not required to pay the $25.00 application fee (as long as you have an academic record). Click here to apply online. Q6. Can I attend MSU Denver as a Summer Only student?
Applicants 19 years old or younger who have graduated from high school or have received a General Educational Development (GED) certificate and are applying for the summer semester, and who do not wish to continue after the summer semester, may be admitted under this provisional status. These applicants are not required to submit admission credentials, but also are not eligible for Financial Aid. Please check the appropriate box under the MSU Plans section on the Application for Admission. Summer Only Students who wish to continue in the fall or spring semester must meet stated admission requirements before the semester begins. Click here to apply online.
If you are a student at another college or university and you intend to transfer MSU Denver class(es) to your college or university, please check with your college or university to ensure trasferability. We do not have any control over what classes will and will not transfer to other schools.
Q7. Do I have to complete the entire application if I’m taking just one class?
Yes, you need to complete the entire Application for Admission even if you are only taking one class. Click here to apply online.
If you do not wish to earn college credit for the class, you may audit it (see below).
Q8. How do I audit a class?
To audit a class you need to complete the Audit Form, available from one of the dean’s offices in the School of Business (303-556-3245), the School of Letters Arts and Sciences (303-556-3215), and the School of Professional Studies (303-556-2978). You do not have to apply for admission to MSU Denver to audit a course. Once you submit the form, you may be placed in the class with the permission of the instructor and if seating is available. Students who audit classes are responsible for paying tuition but not the associated fees. Also, there will be no record of the class(es) taken because no credit will be awarded.

Q11. What classes will transfer to MSU Denver?
Since you are interested in transferring to MSU Denver, you are encouraged to apply for admission (if you have not already done so). When you apply, be sure to check “Degree-Seeking” on the application. You also need to have official transcripts from each college or university attended sent directly to us:

Once you have been admitted, we will perform an official transcript evaluation which indicates what does and does not transfer to MSU Denver.

Q13. I’ve been classified as a Non-Resident of Colorado. How do I change this?
In completing the Application for Admission, there may have been unanswered questions that caused you to be classified as a Non-Resident for tuition purposes. If you believe you should be classified as a Colorado Resident, please contact the Office of Admissions at 303-556-3058 to have your residency status reviewed.

Q15. How do I contact Financial Aid?

Current and future class schedules that include class listings as well as important registration dates and deadlines are available on the Registrar's Web site.
Q17. How much is tuition?
Tuition and fees change from year to year. Please visit our current Tuition and Fees Schedule. For questions about your tuition bill, contact the Student Accounts office at 303-556-6188.
Q18. I would like to visit your campus. What do you have available?
We offer the MSU Denver Open House two times per year for prospective students. Click on the program to learn more about it.
You can also take a campus tour every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00 a.m. or Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
