International Students

MSU Denver welcomes students from all over the world. Representing more than 60 countries, international students add rich diversity to the classroom, campus and community.

Applicants who are on or who plan to obtain any type of temporary visa are required to submit the International Application for Admission, a $40 (U.S.) application fee and the following materials:

  1. Secondary school records showing the equivalent of at least a U.S. high school diploma

  2. English language proficiency documentation, normally in the form of an acceptable TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score

  3. Financial support documentation, demonstrating sufficient funds to cover the costs of attending the College for one academic year, including living expenses (only required of prospective students on F-1 visas)

  4. 250 word minimum personal essay (topic: Why did I choose MSU Denver?)

  5. Students with international transcripts should provide official transcripts in their original language for examination. These will be photocopied and returned. A professional course-by-course evaluation completed by a professional transcript evaluation service such as World Education Services (www.wes.org) or Education Credential Evaluators (www.ECE.org) is also required.

Please note that MSU Denver does not offer financial aid to international students. Also note that we do not have residence halls. There are, however, many housing options in the Denver area.

Detailed information regarding all requirements and admission procedures may be obtained from the Office of Admissions and the International Application for Admission.
