What is WUE?
WUE is the Western Undergraduate Exchange, a program of the Western
Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Through WUE, students
in western states (AK, AZ, CA, HI, ID, MT, NV, NM, ND, OR, SD, UT,
WA, WY) may enroll in many two-year and four-year college programs
at a reduced tuition level: 150 percent of the institution’s
regular resident tuition. WUE tuition is considerably less than non-resident
tuition.
WUE Tuition at Metro State:
At Metro State, WUE students pay 150 percent of the student’s
share of Colorado resident tuition plus mandatory fees. In addition,
WUE students, being non-residents, are not eligible for the state
contribution to tuition, otherwise known as the College Opportunity
Fund (COF) stipend. Thus, WUE participants must pay the stipend
amount in addition to WUE tuition and fees. Please see the chart
below for more information (all information is per semester):

Conditions for enrollment under WUE:
WUE is open to students who meet both Metro State admission
and WUE program requirements. Qualified students must apply and be
admitted to Metro State and must submit the WICHE
WUE New Student Participation Form to the Office of Admissions.
Students must also provide proof of residency in one of the WUE participating
states. A copy of one of the following credentials will satisfy the
residency requirement: driver’s license, state tax filing, most
recent pay stubs or lease agreement/proof of home ownership.
Maintaining WUE status:
Every semester, participants must maintain good academic standing
(2.0 or better cumulative GPA each semester) and meet with a WUE academic advisor to register
for classes. Online registration is not available to WUE students.
