Overview of Services

Effective January, 2012

• Individual Appointments - Schedule appointment in advance by calling 303-556-8320 or by stopping by our office in the Student Success Building, suite 350. All appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
• Mock Interview - This is your chance to practice interviewing before you are faced with the real thing! Schedule your mock interview in advance.
• Walk-In Appointments* - Free and quick advice or answers to career related questions.  Walk-In appointments do not exceed 10 minutes.  Please make a full appointment if you have multiple questions. Walk-ins are conducted at the Career Services Office located in Tivoli 215. Visit Career Services to view the updated schedule for walk-in hours.

*Walk-in appointments may be cancelled at times due to staff unavailability. We recommend that you call the office for schedule changes.

Optimal Resume - Free software available to MSU Denver alumni that allows you to create or update a traditional or online resume, define and understand relevant skills, practice over 900 interview questions, and keep your network informed with your job search.

Career Library – Located in the Career Services Office at Tivoli 215, the library contains a variety of print and electronic resources to assist with your career exploration and job search.

Career Assessments - We have two career assessments available to help you explore your personality and interests. The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII). There is a nominal fee to take the assessments. Contact Career Services at 303-556-3664 to learn more about assessment fees. You will attend an Interpretation Workshop to review your results.

Professional Development Workshops - We offer several employment workshops to assist with your professional development. Workshop topics include: Job Search/Image Management, Resume Writing, Interviewing Skills, Starting Your Own Business and Graduate School. Stop by our office or sign in to Joblink to sign up for a workshop.

Career Fairs – The Alumni Association and the Office of Career Services have collaborated to offer you several opportunities to network with hiring managers.  Attend one of our on-campus Career Fairs or participate in the All Colorado Alumni Career Fair to gain valuable face-to-face time with employers.  For a full-list of events see our Events Calendar.

MSU Denver JobLink - FREE Database where you can post your resume, set up a job agent, find contact information for employers you are interested in, look for jobs by category, apply online for posted jobs, research registered employers, sign up for workshops & events and sign up for on-campus recruiting events.
