About the Title III Grant

Achieving Student Success: Focused Advising and Academic Restructuring

The Title III Grant objectives include specific targets for improvement in enrollment, retention, and graduation rates, as well as enrollment in teacher licensure.  Activities are particularly focused on under-represented populations, involving collaborative efforts with the Office of Academic Advising, the Student Academic Success Center, the Center for Urban Education, the Office of Institutional Diversity, the First Year Success Program, and Career Services.

The two major project areas--improvements in academic advising and the formation of a School of Education--were selected based on a series of conversation regarding on-going initiatives to improve student retention and graduation through improved advising and policy implementation, and on the May 2009 recommendation of the Academic Structure Review Committee to supporting the establishment of a School of Education.
