The purpose of the Assurance of Learning Committee is to review and develop policies consistent with the School's Mission and to provide guidance for all School of Business processes related to assurance of learning activities.

The Committee will formulate, implement and periodically update an assessment plan for the common business core courses. The assessment plan should include, but not be limited to, defining the goals and program outcome learning objectives for the business core that align with the school’s mission, to include the competencies, knowledge, and skills for all business majors, the measures and rubrics to be used to assess them, the identification of the assessment population, and the timing and cycle for the measurement of each outcome. The committee shall report the results of the assessment activities as requested by the school and college. The committee shall make recommendations for changes in the school’s core based on assessment results.

The Committee shall also formulate, implement and periodically update or review an assessment plan for the General Business Minor, International Business Minor, International Business Certificate, International Business Concentration or other degree program that might be established within the School of Business that is not directly tied to a specific discipline.  The plans are to include all items and activities as listed above for the business core.  The Committee may assign these duties to a subcommittee or taskforce. However the Committee will be responsible for the completion of assessment activities for these programs.

The Committee shall also oversee and facilitate assessment activities across the School of Business by providing assistance to the department assessment committees as requested.
