Brand Positioning Statement

To help achieve Metro State's vision to become the preeminent public urban baccalaureate college in the nation, the College has developed a communications strategy to help all Metro State employees effectively tell the Metro State story, no matter what the setting.

The communications strategy involves long-term brand positioning for Metro State that encompasses more than a slogan. Brand positioning revolves around communicating a consistent message to all audiences, including current students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, community partners, the media, friends and neighbors. The message captures the distinctive mission, aspirations and strengths of Metro State, so that the Metro State brand gains even broader recognition and stronger appeal.

Brand positioning requires that communications about Metro State use the same tagline and key messages, described below, which flow from the following brand position statement.

Metro State provides a more relevant, enriching and individualized education.
As the preeminent public, urban baccalaureate college in the nation, Metropolitan State College of Denver offers motivated and aspiring students access to a more rewarding and personalized academic experience upon which to succeed in school, career and life. Metro State's unique ability to offer a challenging and empowering urban educational experience makes both teaching and learning at Metro State more relevant to today's multicultural and evolving world. By providing more access to diverse learning opportunities, resources, connections and people—all within a highly supported, collaborative, student-centered learning environment—students have more opportunity to create the type of education that best meets their unique needs, while better preparing themselves to meet the changing needs of an increasingly global and technological society.

The current tagline, Where Success Begins With You, should appear underneath the College logo or wordmark on all official College marketing publications and advertising that target an external audience.

Key Messages

Key messages further explain the College positioning statement. These should be used on a consistent basis throughout the College and community as overarching planning themes. Below is a list of the key messages along with vivid descriptors.
