Dean's Message/Welcome
Welcome to the School of Business at Metropolitan State College of Denver (Metro). As you browse the site, you'll become acquainted with the business programs and faculty that help make Metro the premier undergraduate baccalaureate degree-granting institution in Colorado.
In addition to the quality curriculum and professors, the success of the School of Business can also be attributed to our students and our partners in the business community, who demonstrate, through their achievements and their generosity, the role Metro plays as a member of the Colorado Community.
Located on the Auraria Campus, Metro has a diverse student and faculty population in the heart of Downtown Denver. Such diversity contributes to a more enriching educational experience. In the hub of the Denver business community, Metro's partnerships reflect its dedication to the Colorado business community. Such alliances build bridges between the business community and students entering the workforce.
The School's community partnerships evidence our role as providers of quality education to future business leaders. In fact, many members of the School's Executive Council are Metro graduates who gained prominence as community leaders and have returned to contribute to Metro's future.
As a teaching institution, Metro emphasizes innovative, contemporary
instruction and a nurturing, transforming educational experience.
This quality business education is provided by a faculty committed
to providing quality education for future business persons. The faculty
stay current through scholarly activity and continuous professional
development.
The School's faculty includes seasoned professors who continue to
distinguish themselves academically, and veteran business professionals
who apply complex theory to contemporary business practices. Our faculty
includes Fulbright Scholars, editors of academic journals, and nationally
recognized academic scholars.
Because Metro is a state-funded college, we work the "Metro miracle" every day, providing world-class education and community services, making the most of our resources and partnerships. The faculty and students at Metro have a gift for making good things happen.
For instance, our new School of Business Computer Lab, provides students with a premier technology facility. The lab is a testament to our mission to provide the most current, relevant educational experience possible.
I invite you, one of tomorrow's leaders, to explore the School of Business web site and learn more about our unique mission, distinct faculty, and remarkable students.
Dr. John P. Cochran
Dean, School of Business
