Curriculum Changes

CIS 2300/CIS3340 phased out and replaced by CIS 3300/CIS 3320

Due to changes in the college curriculum, both CIS 2300- Business Statistics and CIS 3340 Advanced Business Statistics will be phased out over the next two semesters. If you have already taken CIS 2300- Business Statistics, you must take CIS 3340- Advanced Business Statistics in the Spring 2011 semester or the Summer 2011 semester. These courses will not be offered after Summer 2011. If you have not taken CIS 2300- Business Statistics, you will now be required to take CIS 3300- Managerial Statistics and CIS 3320- Management Science. Please contact the School of Business Advising Office, AD 540 for questions or concerns regarding these curriculum changes.

Prerequisite Changes for CIS 3300 and FIN 3300

Effective Fall 2011 prerequisites for FIN 3300 and CIS 3300 include a “C” or better in MTH 1320.  All Students who have a “D” in this course will be required to retake MTH 1320 to get into FIN 3300  or CIS 3300.

Prerequisite Changes for ALL Business Core Courses Beginning Fall 2011!

Beginning Fall 2011 prerequisites for business core courses are changing. All business core courses will require completion of ALL General Studies Level I coursework. In order to move into the business core, you must have COMPLETED your Level I requirements. There will be no exceptions.

Also, effective Fall 2011 please note that the prerequisites for FIN 3300 and CIS 3300 include a “C” or better in Math 1320. All students who have a “D” in this course will be required to retake Math 1320 to get into FIN 3300, CIS 3300 and CIS 3320.

School of Business required level I General Studies are: ENG 1010, ENG 1020, MTH 1310 (or college level Math) and SPE 1010 (communications).

 The Following outlines each business core course and its prerequisite:

ACC2010- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math

ACC 2020- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, MTH 1110, 1310 or 1400 & ACC 2010

CIS 2010- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math & CIS TEST or CIS 1010

MGT 2210- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math

MKT 2040- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math

MGT 3000- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math & at least junior standing

MKT 3000- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, Level I Math & 60 at least junior standing

FIN 3300- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, C or better in Math 1320 or MTH 1410, C or better in ACC 2010, ECO 2010, ECO 2020 & at least junior standing

CIS 3300- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, C or better in Math 1320 or Math 1410, “CIS 2010 & at least junior standing

CIS 3320- ENG 1010, ENG1020, Level I Communication, C or better in Math 1320 or Math 1410, CIS 3300 & at least junior standing

MGT 4950- completion of all other business core courses and senior standing
