Dr. Arthur Campa | Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Campa is the Co-Principal Investigator of the MSCD-CAMP as well as the Interim Associate Dean of the School of Language, Arts & Sciences. He is also a Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Behavioral Science and teaches cross-listed courses in Department of Chicana/o Studies. His responsibilities for the program include providing support at the Dean's level, offering advice and mentoring for the CAMP staff, and assisting with overall program implementation, including reporting to the Office of Migrant Education in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Campa received his B.A. in Latin American Studies at the University of Denver in 1966, and his M.A. (1972) and Ph.D. (1980) in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Dr. Campa lived five years in Latin America (Chile, Mexico, and Peru). There he spent two years in the Peace Corps in Chile, received a junior year abroad scholarship for study in Mexico, and lived two years as a child in Peru where his father was a diplomat with the American Embassy in Lima, Peru.
In addition, Dr. Campa employs his skills as an Applied Anthropologist as Director of P.E.R.U. (Peruvian Eco-sustainable Development & Understanding), a non-profit development agency. This group is involved in sustainable development of a small agricultural community on the northern coast of Peru, which he visits yearly. This project operates in conjunction w/ Civil Consulting Engineers of Lakewood, CO, Engineers without Borders International and other developmental programs.
Dr. Campa's history with HEP/CAMP began in 1981, where he co-developed the first HEP from the University of Colorado. He directed this project until 1993, when he transferred to MSCD. This project developed the first HEP commuter program. There at CU he also co-founded a CAMP (1990-1993). His experience and commitment to Migrant Education continues today with the present MSCD-CAMP.
Dr. Adriann Wycoff | Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Wycoff has over thirty years' experience in community-based, non-traditional education. Her responsibilities have included teaching, program administration, curriculum development, grant writing, community outreach and public relations. Her responsibilities for the program include providing support, offering advice and mentoring for the CAMP staff, and assisting with overall program implementation, including reporting to the Office of Migrant Education in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Wycoff is a frequent presenter at workshops and conferences on issues confronting migrant and seasonal farmworkers, adult learners (including welfare reform), limited English proficient children in special education and other non-traditional students. Her professional interests include Latin American women's poetry, the woman's voice in world literature and the feminization of poverty.
Dr. Wycoff received her B.A.at the University of Illinois at Chicago; M.A., Northwestern University; and her Ph.D. at Northwestern University. She is an Assistant Professor of Chicana/o Studies and is also the Director of the MSCD Family Literacy Program.

Rory received his Master in Finance from the University of Colorado, Denver in May 2010, his Master in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Denver in July 2010, and his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Leadership from Colorado State University in December 2002. Responsibilities for his position as Director include overall program administration and implementation, budget management, providing mentoring and tutoring, searching for additional funding, and continuing to provide opportunities in which the current CAMP students and future CAMP students can thrive.

Dr. Luis Rivas | Assistant Director

Dr. Luis Rivas is a Professor with the English Department at Metro State. He also works with CAMP students during the weekly workshop session and introduces students to topics that help them succeed at the college level. Additionally, as Assistant Director, Luis works to help navigate the program via a much needed faculty lens. This coming year, he will be coordinating the CAMP Peer Mentoring Group.
