How Do I Create an Employer Account?

Click on the "Click Here to Register" tab.

Complete the employer profile and the contact profile then hit "Register."
*Metro State Career Services reviews every employer who registers with JobLink. This means that your employer status will be "pending" until we have made sure your organization meets our Employer Policies and are able to approve it. This usually occurs within 24 hours and you will receive an email stating that you have been approved and will provide you with your username (your email) and password.*
How do I know If I am an Eligible Employer?
The following policy is established to determine eligibility of an employing organization or individual to utilize any employer services at Metropolitan State College of Denver, in accordance with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Principles for Professional Conduct.
Eligible Employers...

Must have current or anticipated job openings for college graduates or alumni.

Must have an "employer-employee" relationship in which there are no fees associated with becoming an employee of the organization, other than professional licensure fees for career employees that may be necessary to be paid by employee.

Must comply with all federal, state, and local Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and regulations.
-
The employment organization must have a payroll and human resources liaison to which the student employee may seek recourse in the event of a workplace conflict or dispute.
-
The position cannot be commission only.
-
The pay rate must pay at least the Colorado state minimum wage (calculated over any time scale such as hourly, weekly, semi-monthly, monthly or annually).

Third Party Agencies (temporary agencies, temp-to-hire agencies, search firms, etc.) can participate in career fairs and post jobs on Metro JobLink only. The following requirements must be met:

Provides disclosure of position(s) posted on Metro JobLink and employer he/she represents for recruiting activities;
-
Acknowledges that the Career Center may verify with employer the third party recruiter relationship;
-
Provides information concerning Metropolitan State College of Denver candidates employed through the agency (candidate, employer, and salary);
-
Promises to not use resumes attained from job postings for referral to any other job or employer; and
-
Acknowledges that third party agencies are not eligible for other employer services.
*Ineligible Employers...

Home Based Businesses are not eligible to participate in Metropolitan State College of Denver's employer services.

Network Marketing Organizations and Franchise/Business Opportunities are not considered "employers" by the Office of Career Services and are not eligible to participate in any employer services. Such organizations are those that engage in one or more of the following practices:

Sponsorship of an individual in setting up his/her own business for the purpose of selling products or services and/or recruiting other individuals to set up their own business. (EX. Direct Sales Organizations)

Requirement of an initial investment from individuals, with the organization itself serving as an umbrella or parent corporation. The initial investment may be direct payment of a fixed fee, payment to attend an orientation or training session, and/or purchase of a starter kit.

Compensation is often or exclusively in the form of straight commission, fees from others under their sponsorship in the organization, and/or a percentage of sales generated by others.
*The Office of Career Services reserves the right to deem any organization ineligible whose policies or goals are determined to be in conflict with the mission of Metropolitan State College of Denver. The final approval for employers to utilize campus facilities and services rests with the Director of the Office Career Services.*
What If I forgot my Username/Password?

Go to the sign-in page at https://www.myinterfase.com/metrostatecollege/employer

Click the "Forgot Password" tab

Enter your existing User ID and click Reset Password. A new, random password will be generated and sent to the e-mail address currently in your profile.
How Much Does this Service Cost?
- Nothing. It is free!
After you log in, you come to the Metro State JobLink Home page. Here you will find useful tools:

My Task List: You can view all applicants to your posted jobs. For the

Recruiting Program, you can monitor when you need to enter preselects and

alternates.

Report a Hire: Click here to let us know if you’ve hired one of our students

Calendar – You will see when your posted jobs are scheduled to expire, upcoming interview dates, info sessions, and upcoming Metro State career fairs.

Under the My Profile menu on the toolbar you can update your contact information (contact name, address, password, phone number, email, etc).
What Kinds of Jobs Can I Post?
-
We post most jobs that have a base pay, are not commission only, are not based out of a private, home organization, and that are based out of an organization that provides the employee with some type of Human Resources liaison and that has a payroll.

Job restrictions are further explained in our Employer Policies so please refer to it for more information.

Go to the “My Jobs” tab at the top of your homepage and click on “Create A New Job.”

Complete the job profile and then hit “Save.” (Make sure to fill out the sections with a red asterisk as these are required fields).

*Metro State Career Services reviews every job before it can be posted. This means that your job will be “pending” until we approve it, which usually occurs within 24 hours from when it was posted. Approving a job entails confirming that the position adheres to our Employer Policies. Once your job has been approved you will receive an email notifying you.*

Login to your JobLink account

Click on the “My Jobs” tab

Click on “View Job List”

How Long Will My Posting Be Viewable?
-
Your posting will stay active for 60 days or until the date that you enter in the expiration date field.
-
The job will be viewable on the Post Date
When Will My Job Post to Students?
-
When your job is approved, our office will change the status from Pending to Active
-
If the Post Date has passed, the job will post as soon as we approve it. We try to approve pending bin jobs within 24 hours.
When Will My Job Expire to Students?
-
Jobs are generally posted to students for 60 days. You will receive an email the day before your job expires, to remind you of the upcoming expiration date.

Click on the specific job to view the details.

At the top of the job you then click on [Close Job]. The status will change to “Closed by Employer”.
-
The job will no longer be available to students.
-
Don’t forget to Report a Hire if you’ve hired one of our students.
I'm Filling Out A Job For The First Time. What Does the Following Field Mean?
- Show Contact Info: By choosing “Yes” you will be allowing your contact info to be shown in your Job Posting and the Employer Directory that is available to students.

Choose My Jobs on the toolbar and Job List to view all job postings you have created.

Click on the Job ID or Job Title to view your job’s details.
-
If you edit a job, it will go intoa pending bin to be reviewed by our office before the updated job is viewable to students.
What Do the Job Statuses Mean?
-
Pending: All new jobs and edited jobs will be marked with this status. Our office will approve your job within 2 business days.
-
Active: After a job is approved, it is immediately viewable to students.
-
Note: You can close a job, by opening it and clicking [Close Job] at the top.
-
Closed by Employer: This is the status assigned when you close the job.
-
Inactive: When a job posting expires, it will be assigned this status
How Do I View Student Applications To My Job?
-
Choose My Jobs on the toolbar. Next to each job you will find the Activity column.

R is for Referrals – Click the R to view all students that have applied to your position.
How Do I View the Submitted Resumes of Students to My Job?
-
From “My Jobs” tab, select “Job List”
-
Click on the job title you are interested in
-
Select “View Activity” on the left bar
-
On the far right, you will see a link next to the student’s information that says “View”. Click it.
-
On the left, under Page Functions, select “View Documents”
-
You’ll get a “Please Wait” message while the system is getting the resume. If your system blocks pop-ups, you might get an warning message at the top of your screen asking you to confirm download. Allow downloading.

Save the file and then open the file
How do I Set Up an Information Session?

How Do I Schedule an On Campus Interview?
- You can either call our office at (303) 556-3664 and ask to speak with our Employer Relations Assistant or Sarah Senter (Employer Relations Specialist) or request an interview through Metro State JobLink. (Instructions below).
How Do I Create/Request An Interview Schedule?

Login to your JobLink profile

Click on the “Schedules” tab at the top of your homepage
-
Click on “New Schedule Request”
-
Complete the job profile for which you are interviewing for.

Complete the students’ requirements form
-
Complete the interview request preferences form
-
Click “Save”
This will create an interview schedule request that we can view through JobLink and we will contact you to complete the process.
How Can I Review My Interview Schedule?

Login to your JobLink profile
-
Click on the “Schedules” tab at the top of your homepage
-
Click on “Schedule List”
-
Click on the schedule you wish to view
How Do I Choose Pre-Selects for a Pre-Select Interview?
-
Click on the “My Interview Schedules” tab at the top of your home page on Metro State JobLink and select “Schedules List”
-
Click on the desired schedule by clicking on the schedule ID number
-
Scroll to the bottom of the schedule profile and click “Manage List.” This will bring up a list of students and their resumes.
-
To view a student’s resume click on the PDF icon under the Submitted Documents heading. To view all students’ resumes at once click the “Create Packet” tab.
-
Then next to each student select “Accepted,” Not Accepted,” or “Alternate” (if applicable).
-
After making your selections hit “Save Picks.” A prompt will appear notifying you that students will be notified of your selections. Hit ok and then confirm your picks by clicking on “Submit Picks.”
-
Another prompt will appear that notifies you that if you have left any student’s status requested instead of choosing “Accepted” “Not Accepted” or “Alternate” then those students’ status will automatically be changed to “Not Accepted.” If you are done making your selections then hit ok and this will finalize the preselection process.

After clicking ok, your selections will be saved and submitted.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT click “Submit Picks” until you have selected ALL your preselects and alternates. Once picks have been submitted, all students that are NOT preselects or alternates will automatically be assigned “Not Accepted” status and those students will get an email indicating that they have not been selected.

Can I Post Commission Based Jobs?
- No. We do not post any commission-only jobs. If the job has a base pay plus commission it can be posted. Please refer to our Employer Policies for more information.

Metro State students and alumni can view your postings.

Metro State Career Services staff can also see the postings.
How Do I View On Campus Career Events

Login to JobLink
-
Click on the "Career Events" tab at the top of your homepage

Click on Career Event Name that you wish to view
How Do I Register for On Campus Career Events

Click on the "Career Events" tab at the top of your homepage

Click on Career Event Name that you wish to register for

Click on "Register Now"
-
Complete the Registration Information form and Profile Information form (if applicable) *If there are fees associated with this event, this first page will have a payment method field which will be set to credit card.*

Click "Continue"
-
Add each recruiter's name and email in the appropriate fields who will be attending the event. Click "Add" after each one.
-
If there are fees associated with the event, the next page will list and describe the attendance, quantity, and item fees. Check the appropriate boxes for the attendance fees, indicate the total number for each quantity fee, and check the box for the desired item fee. (All of these sections may not be applicable to you or certain events).

Click "Save" to complete the registration process.
How Can I Make Payment for the Career Fair?
After you have registered for the Career Fair you can make payment online by following these instructions:

On your JobLink Homepage go to the "Career Events" tab.

click on "Career Events List"

Click on "Career Fair"
-
Click "My Registration"
-
Select the "Payment" Tab
-
Click "Save"
-
Complete the credit card information form and then click "Submit Payment"
How Can I Advertise on the Career Services Website?
-
Employers can get a featured spot on our website.
-
Your Logo and link to your website will appear on the front page of our Website (www.mscd.edu/~career).
-
Your company name and a link to your site will be included in our monthly emails to students.
-

How Do I Become and Event Sponsor?

Employers have the opportunity to sponsor a Career Services Event by contacting the Office of Career Services at (303) 556-3664 and ask to speak with Sarah Senter

For most events the perks of being a sponsor include:
Your organization name is listed on all materials, invitation to attend and network with students, table to place all brochures and marketing materials at the event and much more!

The office of Career Services offers many workshops for students on topics such as Resume Writing, Interviewing, Job Search Strategies, Career Fair Prep, etc.
