The Department of Communication Arts and Sciences offers Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences and Speech Communication.
Speech Communication majors can choose an emphasis in Communication Theory, Organizational Communication, Public Address and Rhetoric or Broadcasting. Students may also minor in Speech Communication or Digital Media.
Students who plan to pursue a graduate degree in speech-language pathology or audiology can major in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences. The Childhood Communication concentration within the SLHS major provides early childhood and elementary educators with an option to concentrate their study in the area of language from birth to age 18. Students may also minor in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences. Additionally, the SLHS program offers two certificates: SLHS leveling and Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
