Broadcasting Program Overview
The Broadcasting program prepares students for careers in radio, television and film as on-air performers, writers, producers and directors. Broadcasting graduates may also pursue careers as specialists in promotion, public affairs, sales and marketing, management, production engineering, advertising, and public information.
The Met Report is Metro's TV station where students get hands-on experience in all aspects of producing and broadcasting a weekly news, sports and entertainment program.
Students also gain experience at Metro's radio station KMet Radio, a 24/7 internet operation. And starting with Fall semester 2012, our own department broadcast operation, WCAS Radio, comes online.
Broadcasting majors can choose an emphasis in broadcast journalism, broadcast production or broadcast performance. Required courses are listed on our advising flyer:
