Center Staff
All of our advisors are here to assist you. All are generalists and have helped students develop a wide range of Individualized Degree Programs and to earn prior learning credit. They also have diverse backgrounds and interests.
Dr. Elizabeth Parmelee, Director, has a background in International Studies, education, and non-profit management. She has taught economics in Chile and Boston, and has worked with universities and public school districts to enhance education at all levels. eparmel1@msudenver.edu
Dr. Colby Hatfield, a cultural anthropologist, is a part-time advisor with the Center. He has experience with the University Without Walls, is a former director of the Honors Program at Regis, has taught anthropology at MSU Denver and at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and has worked in community and economic development in Tanzania. hatfield@msudenver.edu
Dr. Christine Flug, Assistant Director, has a background in academic administration, particularly retention programming. A long-time instructor of composition, she earned a doctorate in English Literature. She has worked and taught at Harvard, the University of New Orleans, and the Community College of Denver, and brings to the unit a rich experience in student support, interdisciplinary learning, and music. cflug@msudenver.edu
Brian J. Elizardi, College Completion Specialist, has a background in adult development and learning and has worked as a success coach for over 10 years. Previously he taught at the University of Denver and Tulane University in New Orleans. He has spent over a decade coaching students, major universities and organizations to overcome resistance, beat procrastination and maximize performance and productivity. belizard@msudenver.edu
F. Danielle Forrest is the Prior Learning Specialist and Portfolio Development Workshop Instructor. She has a background in Adult Education, philosophy, and anthropology. She has served in various roles within higher education and is committed to serving student veterans and adult learners. fforrest@msudenver.edu
Susan Heath, Program Manager, has been with MSU Denver for several years. She worked with the Office of Institutional Research prior to joining our team. heath@msudenver.edu
