Metro State is a comprehensive college offering bachelor's and master's degrees on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. Founded in 1965, Metro State has grown to nearly 24,000 students and educates more undergraduate Coloradans than anyone else in the state. Since nearly 75 percent of our alumni live and work in Denver and the state, you could say we specialize in fostering homegrown talent for the challenges of a new century.
The Office of Institutional Diversity works to uphold the values of the college mission and serves as a resource to the Metropolitan State College of Denver community by providing leadership and oversight on issues related to Inclusive Excellence. The Office of Institutional Diversity was created in June of 2006, by Dr. Stephen Jordan and remains part of the Office of the President. The Office is led by Dr. Myron Anderson, Associate to the President for Diversity.
The new Region VIII Equity Assistance Center at the Metropolitan State College of Denver serves the education communities in Colorado, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota and South Dakota. The Center assists states, school districts, public schools, including charter and magnet schools, and Tribal Education Agencies, to plan and implement practices and policies that promote equity and high quality education for all students.
