A. Here are some of the symptoms, which may signify an eating disorder:

Obsession with food

"Purging" food after meals

Restriction of food intake

Restriction of your food choices

Weighing yourself frequently

Fear of gaining weight

Low self-esteem

Absence of menstrual periods (females)
Q. How can you help yourself?
A. Here are some suggestions:

Talk to a friend

Get your mind on something else, i.e. write in a journal, read a book, take a walk

Pamper yourself

Take a stress-relieving class (Yoga)

Relax — take deep breaths

Know that you are a worthy human being

Seek professional help
An eating disorder could present serious medical complications if neglected. Believe in yourself! It may feel difficult, but know that there are people who are willing and wanting to help you!
