Semblance Artist Talk - Sama Alsaibi and Neil Chowdury |
Sama Alshaibi is an artist born in Basra, Iraq to an Iraqi father and Palestinian mother and is now a naturalized US citizen. Alshaibi's work evokes the language of suffering, displacement and loss. Chowdhury has an identity that is neither American nor English, nor Indian, but existing in something between these three points of origin and influence, his work points to the unbridgeable chasms of identity shaped by the diasporic experience. |
