What is a Campus Emergency
An emergency can include a variety of situations that are human-or nature-caused, such as bomb threats, tornados or suspicious persons.
Potential Emergencies and the actions you can take are listed below:
| Active Shooter |
Call 911 from a Campus Phone OR Dial (303) 556-556-5000 to contact the Auraria Police. |
| Bomb Threat | DO NOT use cell phones or radios within 300 feet of the area suspected of containing the device. |
| Building Evacuations | DO NOT use the elevators. Evacuate the building using the nearest exit. Remain Calm. |
| Fire | Activate the nearest fire alarm. Call 911 from a Campus Phone OR Dial (303) 556-556-5000 to contact the Auraria police. |

Severe Weather |
Find a designated underground shelter or move to an interior room/hallway. Get BESIDE NOT UNDER a sturdy piece of furniture. Stay away from the windows and do not open any windows. |
| Earthquake | Find a designated underground shelter or move to an interior room/hallway. Get BESIDE NOT UNDER a sturdy piece of furniture. Stay away from the windowsand do not open any windows. |
| Tornado | Find a designated underground shelter or move to an interior room/hallway. Get BESIDE NOT UNDER a sturdy piece of furniture. Stay away from the windows and do not open any windows. |
| Power Outage | Move cautiously to a lighted area. Check the AHEC website for moreinformation. |
| Suspicious Person | Call 911 from a Campus Phone OR Dial (303) 556-556-5000 to contact the Auraria Police. |
| Snow Closure | Call the 24 hour hotline at (303) 556-2401 for status on snow closures. |
