Spring 2008 Graduation
Spring graduation candidates will be mailed a CAPP Compliance Report that will indicate any discrepancies with their graduation status by the end of February. The deadline to clear or explain discrepancies to the graduation evaluation section of the Registrar’s Office is March 7, 2008. Failure to clear or explain any discrepancies (not met) on the CAPP report will result in being removed as a candidate for graduation. It is your responsibility to acquire, read, and understand your CAPP Compliance Report in its entirety.
Summer 2008 Graduation
Students who are planning to complete requirements Summer semester 2008, must file an Application
for Graduation for Summer Semester 2008. The deadline to submit an application for Spring graduation is June 6, 2008.
Summer graduation candidates are invited to participate in the Fall 2008 commencement ceremony. However, summer graduation candidates who would rather participate in the Spring 2008 commencement ceremony may go to the commencement website for information regarding the ceremony. Summer graduation candidates should be aware that, while their name will be called along with the names of spring degree candidates, their names will not be listed as spring candidates in the Spring Commencement Program. (Summer graduates’ names will appear in the Fall 2008 Commencement Program.) Summer graduation candidates who may qualify for honors and who wish to wear an honors cord at commencement must participate in the Fall commencement program.
Summer graduation candidates must apply for summer graduation only and will be mailed a CAPP Compliance Report that will indicate any discrepancies with their graduation status in June 2008. Summer graduation candidates who file a Spring Application card will be removed from the candidate list and must resubmit an Application for Summer Graduation.
Graduation Policies
All graduation candidates
should be aware of basic degree requirements, in particular the following policies:
1. Students who have repeated courses,
either at Metro State or in transfer, may show more credit than can be
applied to degree requirements. Only the grade for the last attempt
of the course will remain on the student’s academic record.
Students are responsible for reporting this to the Office of the
Registrar and failure to do so may negatively affect their ability
to graduate.
2. A minimum of 120 semester hours, along with all other requirements
for a degree, is required to graduate.
3. According to the Metro State catalog, to qualify for honors a student
first must have completed a minimum of 50 semester hours of Metro State
(classroom) credit prior to the term of graduation. Courses completed
during the term of graduation and transfer credits are not considered
when determining honors.
