Creating a Discussion

Step 1.	From the Build tab , click the Discussions tool .
Step 2.	Click the Create Topic button .
Step 3.	Click on the Threaded topic radio button.
Step 4.	Press the Next button .
Step 5.	Enter a Title and Description, which is recommended to provide directions to the students for posting messages to this topic.
Step 6.	For Item Visibility, decide whether to show this item to students (upon saving) or keep hidden until you are finished setting up all your discussion activities in the course.
Step 7a.	If you would not like the topic to be gradable, select the radio button that says “Topic is not gradable."
Step 7b.	If you would like the topic to be gradable, select a grading scheme of Numeric (and type in the maximum number of points) or Alphanumeric to assign a letter grade.
Step 8.	Click Save to create the topic .
