Bio:

Hazan teaches Political Systems & Ideas, U.S. & Third World and Political Systems and Ideas.

He has taught at Metropolitan State University of Denver since 1992.

Hazan’s research and teaching focus on political science and world affairs with an emphasis on the developing world. Some of his most recent papers include "Islam, Nationalism and Change during the Erdogan-Gul Administration," "Regional and Global Governance of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey as the Emerging New Quartet!," and "Obama Administration Foreign Policy Towards Iran, Israel, Palestine and Turkey."  

He is a founding member of the Middle East Study Group of the Anti-Defamation League-B'nai Brith and a member of the Board of Advisors of the American Council for the Study of Islamic Societies, and the Byron and Christine Johnson Legacy Inc., The Mizel Museum and the Turkish-American Cultural Society of Colorado.

Hazan grew up in Istanbul, Turkey, and was educated in France and the United States.
