Application and Registration

  1. How do I apply for Extended Campus courses?

To take courses for academic credit through Extended Campus you must apply under the normal procedures of Metropolitan State University of Denver. You can find an application at MSU Denver Admissions. Applications are also available at MSU Denver North Campus and MSU Denver South Campus.

  1. How do I register for Extended Campus courses?

Registration of an Extended Campus courses is contingent upon acceptance to the University. Once accepted to the University you will be instructed to register through ConnectU.

If you are a current student you can log into your ConnectU account and register like you would any other class using the CRN provided in the schedule.

  1. I only want to take one class through Extended Campus-- do I still have to apply?

Yes, you still have to apply if you want to receive academic credit for the course. Please complete the application for admissions. Applications are also available at MSU Denver North Campus and MSU Denver South Campus. Once you are accepted to the University you will be instructed to register through ConnectU.

Academic Advising

  1. Is there academic advising available at Extended Campus?

There is not academic advising available at Extended Campus. Please contact the Academic Advising Center by phone at 303-556-3680.

Tuition and Fees

  1. What is the tuition for Extended Campus courses?

Tuition for Extended Campus courses is the current “students share of tuition,” plus the Extended Campus fee of $49 per credit hour, the immunization fee, and the Metro State bond fee. Students new to MSU Denver will also pay a one-time matriculation fee.

  1. Why is tuition different for Extended Campus courses?

Students attending Extended Campus courses do not pay all of the on-campus fees. However, Extended Campus does charge an off-campus fee charged per semester hour. Click here to see the tuition and fees for on-campus and Extended Campus.

  1. What is the off-campus fee?

The off-campus fee is charged to pay for off-campus facilities. The Extended Campus division of MSU Denver does not receive state funds to support the offering of classes off-campus.

 COF/Stipend

  1. Why do some of the courses for Extended Campus say “not COF/Stipend eligible” and what does that mean to me?

Many of the courses at Extended Campus are not eligible for the COF/Stipend. However, the student’s out of pocket cost for the course is still the same as if the course was eligible for the COF/Stipend. Students are not required to pay the COF/Stipend amount.  Computer Labs

  1. What software programs are available in the labs at Metro North or South?

The software programs on the computer labs at MSU Denver North and MSU Denver South Campus are the same as you would find on the Main (Auraria) campus. The labs are linked directly to the Main campus.

  1. What are the hours the labs are open?

    MSU Denver North Campus, 303-450-5111

    Monday - Thursday 9:00 am-8:30 pm
    Friday 9:00 am-4:30 pm
    Saturday 9:00 am-2:00 pm (Saturday times may vary.)

MSU Denver South Campus, 303-721-1313

Saturday 8:30 am-3:30 pm (Saturday times may vary.)

  1. Is printing available?

Yes, printing is available at both MSU Denver North Campus and MSU Denver South Campus.

 Parking and Light Rail Access

  1. Do I have to pay to park?

No, There is plenty of free parking at both MSU Denver North Campus and MSU Denver South Campus.

  1. How do I get to the MSU Denver South Campus from the Orchard Station on the Southeast LightRail System?

From the Orchard Station walk directly west approximately 200 yards to the Triad North Building, 5660 Greenwood Plaza Blvd.

  1. Where can I get information for on-line courses?

 Books and Supplies

  1. Can I buy scantrons or blue books at MSU Denver North or MSU Denver South Campus?

Yes, scantrons and blue books are available at both MSU Denver North Campus and MSU Denver South Campus. At MSU Denver South Campus you can purchase them at L100 on the lower level and at MSU Denver North Campus they can be purchased at the front desk.

  1. Can I buy books at MSU Denver North or MSU Denver South Campus?

No, please purchase your books in advance of class at the Auraria Bookstore located at the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria Campus. Books can also be purchased on-line and delivered to your home through the Auraria Bookstore web site.

 Auditing and Metro Meritus

  1. Can I audit a course offered through Extended Campus?

Yes, you can audit a course through Extended Campus. Tuition for auditing a course is $95 per semester hour. Please contact us at 303-721-1313 to make arrangements. Please note that academic credit is not awarded for an audit. For an audit registration form, click here (Acrobat Icon 100 KB)

  1. What is the Metro Meritus program?

Individuals 60 years or older who do not wish to earn college credit are invited to attend tuition-free classes of their choice on a space-available basis. For more information contact the Center for Individualized Learning at 303-556-8342. Click here for an application for the Metro Meritus program.

 Faculty

  1. Who teaches the classes at Extended Campus?

The faculty who teach classes at Extended Campus are either full-time or affiliate faculty, many who already teach on the main campus.

 Student Employment

  1. Are there any student positions available at Metro North or South?

Yes, student positions are available at both Metro North and South. Check the student employment page for opportunities.
