Certificate Programs
Connecting Careers with Education
Coordinated by the Office of Academic Affairs (303-556-3040), certificate programs provide opportunities to successfully complete a series of five to eight academic credit classes that focus on a particular area or career interest. Each certificate program is designed to stand alone or merge with your degree program major or minor. The certificate title and date of award will appear on your Metro State transcript.
Why enroll in a certificate program?
• Prepare for a new job or promotion
• Complete a short term goal while "on the way" to a degree
• Comply with a work-force need for a baseline of knowledge in a new area
• Satisfy a personal need for new skills and information
How to get started:
• Apply and be accepted to Metro State
• Talk with the contact person designated for the Certificate Program you plan to pursue
• Ask about prerequisites or additional requirements, taking courses in sequence, and course rotation
• Obtain a Certificate Program Plan from your program contact person. Use it to project a sequence of courses and an estimated completion date
• Find out what courses may be transferred (Maximum 6 credit hours may be transferred into a certificate program)
