GUIDE TO SEEKING PRIVATE FUNDING

BIBLIOGRAPHY OF FUNDING RESOURCES

This listing was compiled by the Office of Development to assist the faculty and staff of MSCD in seeking private grants.  Although listed in alphabetical order, the references tagged with an asterisk are the recommended starting places.  Most of these references include several types of cross-referencing indexes, including funding by geographic or topic area.  Note that there are several books available that provide funding sources targeted to specific program areas.  This list is not complete, be sure to do a search of the library index under terms such as grants, foundations, etc., as well as terms specific to your area, i.e., literacy.  Most books are located at Auraria (AL) and the Denver Public libraries (DPL), also listed here are resources available at the MSCD Office of Development (MSCD Dev), University of Colorado--Boulder (UCB), and Jefferson County Library (JCL).

America’s New Foundations
Containing 2,800 entries, this publication details private, corporate, and community foundations created in the previous five to seven years. (Published annually by The Taft Group)

Colorado Foundation Directory*
NO LONGER IN PRINT.  Details both private and community foundations in Colorado. (Published biennially by The Junior League of Denver)

Colorado Grants Guide*
This resource reviews most of Colorado’s local funding sources, including foundations and corporations and an index by area funded.  (Published biennially by The Community Resource Center, Inc.)
