Teaching Parents with Cognitive Disabilities Home Safety and Child Health Awareness

This one-day training will provide the curriculum materials needed to teach health and safety lessons to parents with cognitive impairments and/or teen parents.

Participants receive a copy of The Health and Wellness Program: A Parenting Curriculum for Families at Risk. A CD-ROM featuring supplementary resources such as additional assessment devices, terms and definitions, and research on mothers with cognitive impairments is included. The health lessons apply to all ages, and the safety materials are most useful with children under three.

Target audience: Caseworkers, Case Aides, and other professionals in the Human Services field.
