Erin Trapp, Ph.D. - Vice President of Advancement and External Relations & Executive Director of the Foundation
Erin M. Trapp, Ph.D. is Vice President of Advancement and External Relations and Executive Director of the Foundation at Metropolitan State College of Denver, an urban college of 24,000 students in the heart of downtown Denver. Prior to joining Metro, Dr. Trapp served as deputy chief of staff for the City of Denver and Mayors John Hickenlooper and Bill Vidal, overseeing agencies employing more than 2000 people as well as the city’s state and federal legislative portfolios. Trapp also served as director of the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs for the City. In this role, she orchestrated the city’s cultural economic development and public art portfolios as well as its direct and partnership investments in the cultural landscape of the Denver metropolitan community.
Dr. Trapp also served in leadership positions at the Western States Arts Federation and Merrill Lynch Private Client Services. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a BA in History and Public Policy from Swarthmore College. She has served on the Boards of numerous nonprofit organizations including Arts for Colorado, the Clyfford Still Museum, the Denver Preschool Program and the Swarthmore College Alumni Council. Trapp lives in Denver with husband Patrick Krueger and daughter Stella.
