Marilee Utter - Executive Vice President, District Councils, Urban Land Institute
Marilee Utter is executive vice president of Urban Land Institute's district council program. Urban Land Institute is a global research and education institute dedicated to responsible land use and innovative, sustainable community building. Utter is former president of Citiventure Associates LLC, a Denver-based real estate advisory firm that specialized in public-private transactions, with particular expertise in transit-oriented development and mixed-use villages.
She has been a banker with Wells Fargo Bank and a private developer with Trillium Corporation, managing the revitalization of Denver’s Central Platte Valley rail yards. She also previously established the Office of Asset Management for the City and County of Denver and the Department of Transit-Oriented Development for the (Denver) Regional Transit District. Utter has become a nationally known speaker, writer and advisor on innovative approaches to community redevelopment and urban issues. Utter is a national trustee for the Urban Land Institute and past chair of the Colorado District Council.
She holds an M.B.A. from University of California - Los Angeles’s Anderson School and a certificate in state and local public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
