Application Checklist

Use these handy checklists as your guide to making sure your application is complete. (Choose the link that applies to you.)

First Time, Under 19 Years of Age

√ Apply Now! Submit your online application here.

Remember your $25 nonrefundable application fee! And deadlines!

√ Submit your official GED scores or ask your counselor to send your official high school transcript—with current GPA and class-rank information—as well as college and AP transcripts, if applicable to:

√ Take the SAT or ACT
and have your official test scores sent directly to MSU Denver's Office of Admissions. (Our SAT code is 4505; our ACT code is 0519.) If you have your GED, you don't need to submit ACT or SAT test scores, but we recommend that you do.

√ Check your transcript to see that you have completed the State of Colorado Higher Education Admissions Requirements. You must have taken:

  • Four Years of English
  • Four Years of Math
  • Three Years of Science, two of which are lab science
  • Three Years of Social Science
  • Two Years of Academic Electives
  • One Year of a Foreign Language

√ Complete assessment tests, if necessary. If you don't meet minimum ACT/SAT scores below, you will need to complete certain assessment tests in the Assessment and Testing Office, located in Tivoli 347, before you can be admitted and/or register for classes. Practice tests are available here.

√ Request that your high school transcript with date of graduation or official GED test scores be sent to the Office of Admissions at the address listed below. (Official GEDs issued through the military will be considered on an individual basis.)

√ If your ACT/SAT test scores are less than five-years-old,
submit them to the above address. Otherwise, you will need to complete assessment testing to register for classes. 

 

Transfer students

Meet with a MSU Denver counselor. Your counselor will help you figure out how many of your previous credits might transfer, and whether or not you need to take assessment tests. Bring your previous college or university transcripts to this meeting.
