Metropolitan State’s online giving page is a service provided by Blackbaud, Inc. The online transaction service provided by Blackbaud was created for the purpose of helping educational institutions receive donations online. Blackbaud is committed to protecting your privacy.
Information Collection
When making a donation you are asked to provide your name, contact information, and credit card billing information. All of this information is encrypted using SSL, an industry-standard secure technology. This encryption is designed to prevent the theft or interception of the information you provide. SSL encryption is indicated on your Web browser by the display of a lock or key on the browser status bar.
Blackbaud provides the technology to ensure that your donation is successful. Blackbaud does not sell, trade, rent, or share your information with any entity other Metropolitan State College of Denver and the vendor that processes payment transactions, which has its own privacy policy. Blackbaud may use demographic data derived from aggregate donor information, such as number of donors from a particular locale or number of donations above a certain giving level.
E-mail Addresses
The Blackbaud Web site collects your e-mail address for the sole purpose of sending a donation confirmation. Blackbaud will not disclose, sell, trade, rent, or otherwise reveal your e-mail address to any entity other than Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Security
In addition to utilizing SSL encryption for all transactions, Blackbaud stores encrypted credit card numbers and passwords, as well as other donor information, on servers that are kept in a physically secure environment with strict policies that minimize staff access to the information contained therein. The Card Security Code is only used for credit card processing and is not stored on Blackbaud's servers.
