Thank you for your support of Metropolitan State University of Denver.
As the 2011-12 fiscal year ended, the community celebrated a milestone—closing out our chapter as a college and continuing on our journey to preeminence as a university.
We began the fall semester with students filling the hallways and classrooms of our new Student Success Building, our new Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center and newly renovated spaces in four other buildings, increasing our classroom space dramatically.
Today, with Latino enrollments at 18.1 percent, we are ahead of schedule in achieving our 25 percent goal of becoming a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution.
MSU Denver has an important story to tell. As Colorado’s urban land grant university, we are a critical economic force in this region. Tens of thousands of our graduates are living and working in this state, contributing as teachers, restaurateurs, accountants, entrepreneurs, doctors and other professions. We have alumni succeeding in every sector of this state because our donors invested in them with financial support, our faculty invested in them with their commitment to high-quality education, and they in turn invested in themselves by working hard to earn their degrees.
All of these things are made possible through generous donations made by those closest to the University— friends, alumni and employees. Thanks to you and our other donors, we raised a total of $4,695,034 in 2011-12. We granted 514 scholarships totaling $957,499 from foundation endowments and annual scholarship contributions, enabling our dedicated, hardworking and scrappy students to achieve their dreams of an MSU Denver degree.
MSU Denver is proud to continue our mission of providing an affordable, high-quality education to a diverse population of Coloradans. This is only accomplished because of donors like you.
