Email

 

Your email address will be (user@msudenver.edu) effective Aug. 6. Any emails sent to the new address before this date will be undeliverable and will not bounce back.

Emails sent to @mscd.edu will be redirected until June 30, 2013.

Please include a postscript on your email about the email address change.

 

Faculty and staff accounts

All faculty and staff email addresses will change to msudenver.edu on Aug. 6. Also, the transition for faculty and staff Exchange accounts does not require that any data, files or folders be copied or moved, since only the address is changing.

Student Google mail accounts

Please review these changes, which will occur the weekend prior to Aug. 6. There will be an extended outage on Sunday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. for systems affected by the launch including email, MetroConnect and Banner.

  1. On Monday, Aug. 6, the MetroConnect portal will become the new ConnectU portal and your Google email address will become userid@msudenver.edu. You will find all of the same MetroConnect services along with your new Google email account in ConnectU. Some informational channels may not appear in ConnectU until Sept. 30, 2012.

      • User names and passwords for ConnectU will remain the same as those used for MetroConnect

  2. MetroConnect will transition to an archive system on Aug. 6 and will be available only for the limited access necessary to migrate Google documents, calendars and contacts.

  3. Email from your Inbox and other folders in MetroConnect will be copied over to your new userid@msudenver.edu Google account in ConnectU.
      • Trash and spam will not be copied over to the new account.

      • If you have Google documents, calendar items and contacts in your mscd Google account, you will need to migrate them to your new userid@msudenver.edu Google account in ConnectU by Sept. 30, 2012. Instructions to help you through the process are linked below.

      • Personal assistance will be available in the computer labs and at the two Help Desks, located in WC 241 and AD fourth floor. You can also call 303-352-7548.

      • After the Aug. 6 transition, students will be able to access Google email directly at http://gmail.msudenver.edu or http://www.google.com/a/msudenver.edu.

  4. If you are forwarding your @MSCD.edu email to another address this will be stopped on Sunday, August 5th.  If you would like to setup forwarding of email from your @MSUDenver address, you will need to make these changes on Monday, August 6th by going to http://gmail.msudenver.edu

  5. Mobile settings will need to be reconfigured to the new msudenver.edu email account.  Assistance will be available in the computer labs and at the Help Desk.

 to your new @msudenver.edu Gmail account.

Email forwarding: you must reset email forwarding by going to http://gmail.msudenver.edu
