This fiscal year 2012-13 marks a major turning point in the history of this institution. Authorized by Colorado’s legislature to change our name to Metropolitan State University of Denver on July 1, we are aligning our status with the scope of what we do academically, increasing the value of our degrees and strengthening our already-significant ties to the metro Denver and Colorado community.

Making this change requires a University-wide effort. Everything from our domain name (now msudenver.edu) to our business cards to our new shortened name (MSU Denver) is changing to match our identity as an urban university that prepares students for success and serves as an integral partner in the health and vibrancy of our community.

Use this site as your guide to updating paper goods and other items that bear the institution’s name. In keeping with our new name, we have refreshed the logo and seal to both accommodate the word “university” and reflect our goal of national preeminence.

We are looking at this fiscal year as one of transition. In the spirit of financial and environmental responsibility, use your existing supplies with our previous name until they are depleted or until June 30, 2013. (Guidelines for making those decisions are available here.)

Thank you for your efforts in helping MSU Denver transition to university status. It’s a great time to be a Roadrunner!
