Dear student,

The transition to university status involves changes to MSUDenver’s technology infrastructure that will directly impact our students. Below is the list of email and Metro Connect changes that are one week away as of today.

Please review these changes, which have been planned to occur this coming weekend so that they are effective on Aug. 6.  There will be an extended outage on Sunday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. for systems affected by the launch, including email, MetroConnect and Banner.

Due to the ConnectU launch, the late registration deadline has been moved from Sunday, Aug. 5 to Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 11:59 p.m.

  1. On Monday, Aug. 6, the MetroConnect portal will become the new ConnectU portal and your Google email address will become userid@msudenver.edu. You will find all of the same services that were in MetroConnect, along with your new Google email account in ConnectU.  Some informational channels may not appear in ConnectU until Sept. 30, 2012.

  2. MetroConnect will transition to an archive system on Aug. 6 and will be available only for the limited access necessary to migrate Google documents, calendars and contacts.

  3. Email from your Inbox and other folders in MetroConnect will be copied over to your new userid@msudenver.edu Google account in ConnectU.
    • Trash and spam will not be copied over to the new account.
    • If you have Google documents, calendar items and contacts in your mscd Google account, you will need to migrate them to your new userid@msudenver.edu Google account in ConnectU by Sept. 30, 2012. Instructions to help you through the process will be posted on Got U beginning Aug. 6.
    • Personal assistance will be available in the computer labs and at the two Help Desks, WC 241 and ADM fourth floor. You can also call 303-352-7548.
    • After the Aug. 6 transition, students will be able to access Google email directly at http://gmail.msudenver.edu or http://www.google.com/a/msudenver.edu.

Mobile settings will need to be reconfigured to the new msudenver.edu email account.  Instructions will be posted on Got U and assistance will be available in the computer labs and at the Help Desk.
