Examples:

University of Delaware
The University of Delaware offers four different ways for students to take their first year in a learning community. These include LIFE, First Year Seminar, Honors and Pathways.

Appalachian State University
Appalachian State offers several learning community options: Freshman Seminar, Freshman Learning Communities, Summer Preview, Student Support Services, Residential Learning Communities, Watauga College, Heltzer Honors Program, ROTC-Army, and NC Teaching Fellows. Students are encouraged to choose the learning community that fits their needs.

Olivet College
Olivet has a cohort of students enroll concurrently in two or three different but thematically linked courses.

Portland State University
Portland State’s uses learning communities throughout its general studies program.
