Portland State University
At Portland State, peer mentors are partnered with faculty in Freshman and Sophomore Inquiry. They participate in the faculty’s main class sessions and lead smaller mentor session in which they learn basic computer technology, writing skills, research, and work together on class assignments.

Appalachian State University
In 1990, Appalachian State established a Peer Mentor Program. Upperclassmen volunteer with incoming freshmen.

Eastern Michigan University
Eastern Michigan provides peer mentors to assist provisionally admitted students in learning communities.
