This is not your high school’s student council. MSU Denver’s Student Government Assembly (SGA) is your collective student voice. SGA represents the MSU Denver student body to the administrators of the university, the campus and the State of Colorado. Elected officers of SGA are paid a monthly stipend and are elected in a general election each spring semester.

It is the mission of SGA to uphold student rights and responsibilities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age or ability in an open manner stemming from a position of responsibility, rather than a position of power.

SGA is divided into three primary groups. The Student Senate is a group of 10 elected students charged with establishing SGA goals and initiatives and with overseeing the executive branch, including the president. The executive branch includes five elected representatives and a variety of appointed staff. Individuals interested in getting involved and assisting with SGA goals should contact the SGA office to fill out an application. The Student Court is charged with resolving disputes within the SGA and within or between student organizations.

SGA welcomes and encourages student involvement. Interested students can apply online or in Tivoli 307.
