Sports Swimming Camp Instructor

Position:
- Sports Swimming Camp Instructor (ages 6-14)
Duties:
- Supervise and teach basic swim instruction to kids
- Must have knowledge and training in swimming instruction

Sports Swimming Camp Instructor
Employer:

Position:
- Sports Specialist
Duties:
- Responsible for planning and leading all sports activities for K-5th grade campers, including:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating alls ports activities
- Preparing amterials and/or equipment for all sports activities
- Instructing the groups that come to the area on the rules and procedures of that area
- Teaching and working with campers on new skills in the specialty area
- Helping campers develop positive attitudes toward learning these skills
- Making plans inclusive to campers with special needs and working with appropriate staff member to make this happen
- Giving plans and supply requests to the Camp Directors two weeks in advance
- Caring for and maintaining equipment, supplies and porperty of the JCC
Requirements:
- Attend 4 day staff training before camp begins
- At least 2 years experience in sport instruction with children ages 4-11
- Familiarity and comfort with many formal and informal sports and games such as soccer, basketball, gaga, field games and relay races
- Ability to instruct a group of children in a classroom
- Significant experience in creative lesson planning for 45-minute blocks of time
- Completion of all paperwork (including fingerprints/background checks) before camp begins
- Completion of CPR/first aid training and REDWOODS training
- High-energy, enthusiastic, creative, open-minded, ready for anything!
