AFES Summer/Fall 2013 Internship Meeting

Attention all Adult Fitness and Exercise Science students interested in a summer or fall 2013 internship:

The meeting for students interested in a summer or fall 2013 internship was held on December 6.

If you were unable to attend that meeting, please bring a 4GB flash drive to Brooke Coleman in the Human Performance and Sport main office (PE 217).  She will download a Power Point and copy of the video from the December 6 meeting onto your flash drive.

This concentration is for students interested in the adult fitness and exercise science professions.  Examples of professions in the adult fitness and exercise science field include:

  • cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation settings

  • physical medicine clinics

  • research

  • public and private industry wellness programs

  • worksite health promotion

  • recreation center wellness

  • strength and conditioning programs

  • personal training for general and special populations

Students with aspirations in the exercise science field through advanced degree work in exercise physiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or as a physician’s assistant will find the adult fitness and exercise science curriculum provides a solid foundation, and includes many required prerequisites, for those graduate programs.
