All K-12 Physical Education Teaching majors are required to complete and pass a battery of health related fitness tests that assess the individual's ability to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of fitness. (NASPE 2.2)

The program requirement involves:

  1. Annual completion of five health related fitness tests offered each Fall semester.
  2. Passing four of the five tests with a score of acceptable or higher.
  3. Maintaining or improving upon your test scores throughout your time in the K-12 PE program.

If the student does not achieve passing scores for four of five fitness components they will be able to repeat the test the following semester.  If the repeated test does not show progress toward improvement of the failed tests, the student will be assigned to re-evaluation with their advisor.
