Community Sponsorship Policy
Metro State is proud to support organizations in their community-based initiatives. Our community outreach is regularly extended to organizations that, through dynamic and innovative programming, also support these Metro State strategic planning objectives:
- Raise the profile of Metro State
- Recruit students and faculty
- Promote cooperative learning
- Engage alumni, donors and parents
- Engage community leaders
Initiatives that are eligible for support include the following:
- Community event sponsorships
- Community organization program partnerships
- Event attendance: single or table ticket purchases, or participation in such events as golf tournaments
- Gifts-in-kind (e.g., silent auction prizes)
- In-kind use of facilities, expertise and services (e.g., athletic fields for an event)
- Organizational memberships (e.g., Denver Metro Chamber,
Hispanic Chamber, Latina Chamber, Black Chamber)
Illegal activities and events associated with political or religious fundraising are not eligible for support from the College.
Approval for funding in any one year will not automatically guarantee ongoing or repeat funding in subsequent years.
To be supported, initiatives need a clear rationale. Examples of acceptable rationale include the following:
- Enable strategic networking for purposes of fundraising, friend raising or recruitment
- Raise the profile of the Metro State in areas such
high-quality education, diversity, and staff and faculty achievements - Engage alumni, donors and parents of potential students
- Partner with community leaders toward strategic objectives of the College
- Complement integrated marketing and communication initiatives
within programs such as capital campaigns, faculty recruitment, or special celebrations and events
