Hope, the wife of U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, has a proud history of redefining traditional roles. As a young woman, she was adamant about attending college, which ran counter to her conventional father’s “wisdom.” The proximity of MSU Denver made it possible. She earned her degree and put her bilingual abilities to good use working in the airline industry.

Seeing the opportunities created by Hope's education, it wasn’t long before other family members were building their futures here as well. Currently her daughter, Andrea, continues the Salazar legacy.
